Course Description
Course Title: Essentials of Business Management
Credit Points: 4 (6 ECTS )
- Educational Aim
- The main objective of this introductory course is to provide students with the basic concepts of management, including specific areas of operations and human resources management. And, the course provides a practical part designed to develop students' managerial competence with efficiency, effectiveness and ethics.
- Annotation
- This is an introductory course on basic management concepts, principles and practices. The course is an integration of contemporary issues to traditional management with an international approach.

- Learning Outcomes
- LO1: To know and understand the latest trends in Management sciences; explain the term manager, and identify different types of managers; describe the process of management, including the functions of management; describe the various managerial roles. Describe the nature of business strategy.
LO2: Identify the basic managerial skills and understand how they can be developed; identify the major developments in the evolution of management thought; Identify levels of business strategy, competitive forces, and types of business strategies. Explain the use of operating plans, policies, procedures, and rules
LO3: To be able to develop positive relationships between team members, accept a variety of views, take care of the team and motivate to achieve common goals. To be able to determine the needs for additional knowledge and development of their skills. Recognize the importance of sensitivity to cultural differences in international enterprise. Summarize a general framework for planning and apply it to enhance their planning skills
